"I'm sorry to inform Britta's dear followers that she is out tonight, but after a month in Bogotá, Mickey's here to give you your fix for the night. Tonight's post is about the strange phenomenon of almost everyone in Colombia carrying two or MORE cell phones of varying quality. For some, it's an iPhone and a Blackberry, for others some kind of smart phone and a "flecha" or "arrow"* for security. They call them arrows because "all of the indigenous people have them." The reasons vary from professional needs to theft insurance, but it is a strange phenomenon nonetheless. Unfortunately, I am not even immune. These two phones are mine." (Mickey Albornoz, USA)
